We’re delighted to announce that, as of May 2024, Sustainable Fashion Week is one of the pioneering signatories to Textiles 2030. the UK’s most ambitious voluntary agreement designed to limit the impact clothes and home textiles have on climate change in line with the Paris Agreement and the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action.

On Saturday 20th April, join Fashion Revolution on the streets for the first global Mend In Public Day. The idea is simple: get out into your local community and stitch in protest against disposable fashion.

As our climate, ecological and social crises converge, urgent action is needed to maximize our chances of survival. A new commercial approach is possible but it requires a systemic shift, with companies learning to operate as part of a wider ‘ecosystem’, allowing fashion to restore what it has taken and redesign itself to operate within planetary boundaries.

On 21 Feb 2024 we joined Headington School in Oxford for the first ever SFW Hub in an education setting. This was an exciting step in the development of SFW activities and in reaching younger audiences.

For three years running, SFW has run our #MendItMay digital campaign across May, inviting people across the UK to take action and mend one item of clothing to save it from landfill. New for 2024 is our in-person repair demos and skills learning, aimed at school age children and parents.
