SFW 2021
OUR FIRST EVER SUSTAINABLE FASHION WEEK!
In 2021, we held our first ever Sustainable Fashion Week; the product of years of imagination and planning. Designed and delivered by a team of volunteers, we wanted to turn the classic idea of a fashion week right on its head. SFW 2021 was an incredible feat, engaging more than 9,000 people across the UK who came together to learn, reflect and create.
WHAT DID WE GET UP TO?
SFW HUB
In our home base of Bristol, we took over the M-Shed to hold our first ever SFW Hub, collaborating with influential activists, speakers and business owners to give talks and host workshops on everything from representation and localism, to the lifecycle of our clothes.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
UK-wide, we coordinated a jam-packed Community Events Programme, where organisations, community groups, brands and individuals hosted their own event or workshop in their local areas as part of our national event schedule. From clothes swaps to skills workshops, fashion shows, repair shops, talks and mending circles… they delivered something for everyone!
SFW MARKETPLACE
As part of the SFW Hub weekend, we hosted the SFW 2021 Marketplace; a curated space for sustainable makers and brands to sell their pieces and show attendees what an incredible selection of sustainable, local, hand-made alternatives there are for anyone trying to break away from fast fashion.
