Who am I

My background is in event management, organising conferences and exhibitions across the UK. I am based at an event agency in Paintworks, where I work with various clients across all elements of the planning process. I first came to Bristol to study Creative Product Design at UWE, and I haven’t left since! My degree and the people I have met, have shaped my views towards sustainability – largely at first in the food and manufacturing sectors but more recently in fashion!

What I believe in

I believe that we all have good intentions when it comes to sustainability, just sometimes we take the easy way out or just lack the understanding! I want to raise awareness of the sustainable fashion movement to educate and inspire the people around me.

Why SFW

I have always been cautious of my impact on the environment, but it is with the recent media attention that my interest surrounding sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry grew. Whilst I love a sewing project, or rifling through charity shops I know there is always more to learn. SFW gives me the platform to not only better my own habits but help others to do the same!

What I do for SFW

I’m the Event Coordinator, so will be involved in the logistics of the event and delivery of the SFW hub day.

3 favourite items in my wardrobe

·      Dungarees. I bought these a couple of years ago and loved them. Recently, I realised I hadn’t worn them in a couple of months, so I took to the scissors and cut the legs off. Now I have a completely new look, just from re-purposing an old item.

·      Hugo Boss Jeans. These are my favourite jeans – so comfy! They used to be my Auntie’s before she passed them down to me. The great thing about hand me downs or charity shopping is sometimes you get popular brands for little or no cost.

·      Long Checked Coat. This item was a Christmas present from my mum last year, I absolutely love it. I will do everything to keep this coat going for as long as I can!
