Introducing SFW Hub: Birmingham

Introducing our Hub partner in central Birmingham, The Good Clothes Show!

The Good Clothes Show will be taking place at the National Exhibition Centre between 20th-22nd September, in a celebration of sustainable fashion. Meet makers, perfect your pre-loved pieces, find and swap luxury sustainable garms, discover boutiques and brands, and listen to leading and inspiring speakers in a celebration of good fashion.

Here are some of our favourite highlights from the programme:

Main Stage

Join the conversation with an inspiring line up of industry icons and celebrities at the main stage talks, hosted by TV presenter and fashion lover Annaliese Dayes. Guests include Clare Press from The Wardrobe Crisis, Patrick Grant, Emma Slade Edmundson, Carry Somers, Lauren Bravo, and our very own Amelia Twine!

REMAKE Studio

Sewing celebrities Mercedes Ferrari Plumridge and Jen Hogg (as seen on season 5 of The Great British Sewing Bee) will be at The Good Clothes Show to help you master the basics to upcycle, alter and repair the pieces in your wardrobe so you can love them and use them longer! Learn from the pros in our exclusive REMAKE studio featuring state of the art Janome machines, sustainable Madeira threads and some of the most talented artisans in the UK. Do you have a worn-out item of clothing, a scrap of vintage fabric or other sentimental item no longer serving its original purpose? Maybe your go-to jeans are looking a little tired or moths have found your favourite jumper. Time for a visit to the REMAKE Studio at The Good Clothes Show! Learn to embroider with Ashley Jess Knight our amazing weaver and upcycler or block print a pattern on your plain jane piece with the talented and creative Sally Hitchcock.

NEWLESS will be bringing an upcycling pop-up where you can transform your preloved pieces into something fresh and fabulous. Sessions last 90 minutes so pre booking is essential!

RESTYLE Studio

Explore a new look with our team of professional stylists offering sustainable style makeovers, colour experiences and style talks. Roberta Lee, the founder of the Ethical Brand Directory and sustainability champion will be providing 1-2-1 makeovers, alongside Alex Standley of Luxe Leopard Style, an award-winning stylist with an impressive 19-year career in fashion and styling. Lucy Norris of Second Hand Styling will also be joining the RESTYLE Studio, a seasoned creative consultant and stylist with experience in TV hosting and fashion expertise.

The Swap Shop will be open across the weekend, providing a place for you to restock your wardrobe sustainably, alongside a sustainable bookstore in association with local bookstore The Heath where exclusive book signings and readings will be taking place.

Alongside this, there will be plenty of opportunities to shop for preloved, vintage and upcycled pieces from incredible makers throughout the weekend. For full programme information, please head to the website. Day passes and weekend tickets are available here.
