Textile Junkies is a spin-off community-based business, created by Cheryl Griffiths of The Dress Makers Daughter as a result of her concern about the impact fast fashion is having on the environment.
“I have become increasingly concerned about over-consumption and the amount of goods finding their way to landfill. The fashion industry in particular has a HUGE part to play. I hope to encourage people to re-evaluate their life choices and reintroduce them to forgotten skills that express their (anti-fast fashion) individuality through creativity.”

SUMMER SEWING SCHOOL FOR KIDS
Working with pre-loved clothing and textiles, we will learn to sew, print and make something new. Participants will be invited to model their garments in our Sustainable Fashion Show in September and take part in a professional photo shoot. Everything is provided, but participants can bring preloved items with them. Suitable for beginners/experienced sewers.
