SFW HUB: CHICAGO
20 - 29 SEPTEMBER 2024
THE NATURE MUSEUM, CHICAGO, USA
Hosted by Macaila Britton
OUR PARTNER IN CHICAGO
Our Chicago Hub is spearheaaded by Macaila Britton!
Presented by Macaila’s Sustainable Business Guide and in partnership with The Nature Museum, Sustainable Fashion Week Chicago will debut a nine-day program that includes local free mending workshops, clothing swaps, a film screening, activism, policy writing sessions, and much more. Virtual and in-person opportunities will be available. The official program will debut this summer.
West Suburban native, Environmental Advocate, and Sustainable Business Guide’s founder, Macaila Britton, is the Chicago Chairwoman. She says, “Going into 2024 I knew I wanted to bring a hub to Chicago. We have such a great community and amazing resources in the city and throughout the suburbs. I wanted to lean into that and create something that could bring us together to learn about ways we can build the sustainable future we want to be a part of. Fashion is one commonality — we all wear clothes. This is an avenue where we can learn about things such as where the items in our closet are made, what sustainability means when choosing what clothes to buy, and how we can make the best choices using the resources available to us.”
